Kelly Bishop, LCSW, E-RYT 500, YACEP, RMT, AYS, is a Certified Yoga-Informed Psychotherapist, national teacher, trainer, retreat leader, and lifelong student of Yoga and Tantra. She has maintained a personal yoga practice for 40 years and has taught and mentored students for more than two decades.
Kelly teaches physically rigorous, inwardly transformative Vinyasa practices anchored in breath and the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya. Her experience as a clinical psychotherapist and lifelong yogini allows her to approach movement, meditation, and breathwork through the integrated lenses of nervous-system regulation, somatic awareness, structural integrity, and personal agency.
Her training is rooted in Vinyasa, Tantra Hatha, Ashtanga, Restorative Yoga, and Ayurveda. Following two 200-hour teacher trainings, Kelly completed a 340-hour advanced teacher training at Devanadi School of Yoga and Wellness with Tanya Boigenzahn and her faculty. Initiated into the Sri Vidya tradition, she learned to integrate Tantra and Ayurveda with vinyasa krama, or step-by-step progression. She later earned her Ayurveda Yoga Specialist certification through the Himalayan Institute.
Kelly holds a Yoga-Informed Psychotherapy certification through Live Oak and has completed advanced studies in trauma-informed yoga, breathwork, somatic integration, yoga anatomy, restorative yoga, and dynamic Vinyasa. Her studies have included work with Leslie Kaminoff, Leanne Carey, Seane Corn, and Bryan Kest. Most recently, she completed a 15-month yogic and tantric meditation intensive at Devanadi, including meditation teacher training and a year of sangha practice.
As a trauma specialist, Kelly has supported women healing from trauma and eating disorders and currently serves within the Chicago VA healthcare system. She has also completed advanced education in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD.
Kelly’s greatest joy is helping developing teachers cultivate presence, confidence, ethical awareness, and emotional and structural integrity. She guides students in creating meaningful personal sadhana and empowers them to take the teacher’s seat with authenticity, authority, and care.
